THE TALE OF THE TAKEOVER
HOW SIR SUNDER
SLAYS THE DOOM
Five moves stand between you and your freedom from the Doom. Here is how each one goes.
Name your doom-inducing apps
Name the feeds that devour your hours like locusts through a field of wheat. Then set your limits: a per-session cap to keep each doomscroll short - say 5 minutes - and a daily total, so you can't guzzle the lot in one sitting.
The Doom has you
Reach your limit and Sir Sunder seizes the screen - sword raised, torches lit, ravenous for Doom. It shall not scroll on unchallenged.
A quest to break the spell
Sir Sunder sets you a quest - take it up to break the doomscroll's spell. You may walk away, of course, but you cannot change your fate.
Choose the sentence
Doom slain. Now decide how long the app stays caged - 15 or 30 minutes, or an hour. The longer it's locked up, the more gold Sir Sunder earns for the Keep.
Into the dungeon it goes
The doom-inducing app is caged where it can't reach you, counting down to its release. Refuse the quest, though, and Sir Sunder turns spiteful - he'll lock it away regardless, for a spell of his choosing.
EVERY QUEST PAYS THE KNIGHT
Gold for the Keep
Each quest you accept earns Sir Sunder gold coins. He spends them restoring his keep, forging new weapons for the fight, and taking in animal companions for the watch.
The Great Hall
Help Sir Sunder restore his decaying keep from the hearth to the banners. It shall be returned to its former glory.
The Forge
A knight is only as strong as the weapon he wields. Forge new weapons for the fight - axe, hammer, mace and stranger steel.
The Menagerie
Even knights get lonely. Gather companions for the keep - hounds and beasts to keep Sir Sunder company on his watch.
THE KNIGHT'S CODE
No tricks, no shame, no noise. The only prize is your own time, returned.
No lootboxes, no leaderboards, no confetti. There is gold - earned only by hours away from the feed, and it buys nothing but small luxuries for Sir Sunder.
Streaks are shown quietly and lost silently. He is a wall with a sense of humour, not a scold.
No push notifications, ever. He speaks only when the Doom already has you.
YOUR WATCH IS YOUR OWN
Which apps you watch never leaves your phone. Nothing is sent anywhere unless you choose to send it - a feedback raven, or anonymous counts if you ever switch them on (they're off until you say otherwise). Read the privacy policy →
